    Breakfast

    A typical French breakfast (lepetit-déjeuner) is mainly sweet. It's often a 'tartine' (slice of fresh baguette with butter and jam), brioche, croissant or other viennoiseries with a large bowl of coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

    Choose from our family's favourite healthy breakfast recipes, all low in sugar such as granola, French pancakes (crêpes) and various fruity clafoutis made with eggs. Popular in France is rice pudding with two yolks for extra protein. Although included here, the French normally eat French Toast (pain perdu) for dessert. Savoury dishes include mint omelette and cheese waffles.
